Ensuring Housing Stability. Empowering Communities

screen_shot_2018-06-27_at_1.webp

At OSHOP, we believe that housing is more than just four walls—it’s the foundation for

a thriving life. When families have a stable home, they can focus on education, employment, and well-being instead of worrying about where they’ll sleep next.

But too many in Orlando face the threat of eviction, displacement, and housing insecurity. That’s why OSHOP is committed to a three-pronged approach that provides immediate relief, long-term empowerment, and systemic change to ensure that

housing security becomes the standard, not the exception.

Our Mission

Safe, stable housing is a fundamental right—not a privilege.

As Orlando’s housing crisis intensifies, too many families face uncertainty, displacement, and financial hardship. We work tirelessly to:

✔ Provide immediate relief for families at risk of eviction.
✔ Educate and empower communities on housing equity and tenant rights.
✔ Advocate for bold policy solutions that create lasting, systemic change.

🌍 Our mission is clear: No family should have to choose between rent and survival. OSHOP exists to build a future where housing security is the standard, not the exception.

WHAT WE DO

Direct Support for Families

Reinforcing our Commitment

We stand with families facing housing insecurity, ensuring they receive the support they need to stay in their homes. When a family is at risk of eviction or displacement, we step in to help.

✔ Bridging Rent Gaps – Providing emergency financial assistance to cover overdue rent and prevent eviction.
✔ Funding Security Deposits – Helping families secure stable housing by covering initial move-in costs.
✔ Connecting Families to Resources – Guiding households toward social services, legal aid, and long-term housing solutions.

Every family deserves a safe place to call home. At OSHOP, we work to make that a reality—one family at a time.

Housing Education & Youth Engagement

One Step at a Time

Empowering the next generation is key to lasting change. Through interactive workshops and advocacy training programs, we equip high school and college students with the knowledge, tools, and experience to become leaders in housing justice.

How We Empower Future Advocates:

📌 Teaching housing rights & tenant protections – Students learn how laws impact housing security and how to advocate for stronger policies.
📌 Providing hands-on volunteer opportunities – We connect students with shelters and community programs for real-world impact.
📌 Building a network of student advocates – We foster a community of passionate leaders dedicated to housing equity and reform.

Housing justice starts with education. Together, we are shaping the next generation of changemakers.

"Housing insecurity isn't just about shelter—it's about

dignity, opportunity, and stability. No family should have

to choose between rent and essentials."

At OSHOP, we’re not just helping families stay housed; we’re fighting for a world where no one has to fear displacement again.
